Equipment and clothing to consider
– Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, appropriate footwear and clothing.
– Basic first aid kit, compass, gps, pocket knife, flashlight, cell phone (although the mobile communications network does not cover some parts of the interior), and trail guide.
– Camera, binoculars and/or magnifying glass.
– Water, snacks, energy bars.

Other Advice
– Find out about the weather forecast.
– Check your departure time, confirming that you can finish the course before dark.
– For routes within hunting zones, pay special attention to the hunting season (for information: http://www2.icnf.pt/portal/caca).
– Never set out alone on a trail and always follow the marked trails.
– When passing through settlements and cultivated areas, respect their customs, traditions, and property.
– Respect the regulations in force in protected areas.
– Never drive on the dunes, for your safety.
– Don’t pick plants or rocks or disturb animals, and if you are confronted by an animal don’t run, just keep moving. Don’t build fires.
– Don’t abandon any kind of garbage. Carry it with you in a bag and drop it off at a place where there is a collection service
